MINUTES OF THE 1ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE BEAUMARIS TREE PRESERVATION SOCIETY  HELD ON 28TH SEPTEMBER 1953

Minutes	of last General Meeting held on 16 March 1953 read & passed on motion of Mr. Waters sec. Mr. John Carroll.
President’s Report	read and adopted on proposal Mr. (John) Carroll who complimented Mrs.  (Edith [Bea]) Hosking on her work & report. Seconded by Mr. Waters.

Treasurer’s Report	read, circulated & passed p Mrs. Jenkins sec Mr. Waters
Election of Office-bearers	Mrs. (Edith [Bea]) Hosking was re-elected President  p Mr. Andrews sec Mr. Waters  Mr. Plumridge re-elected Vice-President  p Mr. (John) Carroll s Mr. (William) Ridland  Mrs. (Susan) McDougall re-elected Secretary  p Mr. Plumridge sec Mrs. Jenkins  Mrs. (Sheila) Ridland re-elected Treasurer  p Mrs. (Catherine) Carroll sec Mrs. Waters
	Committee announced that it intended co-opting the services of Mrs. Margot Carroll as Assistant Secretary as Secretary had limited time.
Re Trees in Dalgetty Rd.	Mr. (John) Carroll suggested that trees be planted at 30 foot centres with smaller subsidiary random growth e.g. groups of tea trees, sheokes & wattles with smaller natives surrounding them.
	It was suggested that the Parents' and Citizens' Association recommend Council revoke permit for second tennis court so area may be planted with trees & tennis court be made on Council land planned by P. & C. in Bodley St. area.
	Working bees were discussed to be organized at a later date for foreshore near Sparks St. and for Jackson's corner near Rennison St. (Council help on week days suggested)
	The question of notifying all financial members of meetings was raised. Impracticable because of cost & low financial situation of Society - for same reason decision to carry subscription over for following year was revoked & subscriptions are now due.
