previous meeting |
The Minutes of the previous Annual
General Meeting
held on 18th November (1958) were
read.
Proposed by Mr. (Maurice) Wilson and seconded Mr. Weate that minutes be accepted as correct. The Chairman then signed the minutes. |
| Treasurer's
Report |
The Treasurer presented a statement of Receipts and
Expenditure for
the year which showed a Credit Balance of £167-12-5.
Moved by Mr (Maurice) Wilson and seconded Mr (Colin) Macrae that report be received subject to audit. |

Payment |
City of Sandringham - Current year's rental Gramatan Reserve
£5.
Moved Mrs Rogers seconded Mr (Maurice) Wilson that account be paid. |
| Chairmans
Report |
The Chairman (Mr (Edward)
Hassett) read his Annual Report as President of this Society. He
outlined
the Society's activities of the year, which embraced the Foreshore,
Gramatan
Ave Reserve, Street Tree Planting, Lectures, Native Plant
Display.
Finally he thanked the Vice President, Mrs (Sheila) Ridland, who took his place during his absence overseas, and the Secretary, Mr Stephenson, for his assistance during the year. Also other committee members for their support during the year. Proposed Mr (Colin) Macrae and seconded Mr (Maurice) Wilson that President's Report be received. |

| At the conclusion of the meeting Mr. Roenfeldt, a member of the newly formed Landscape Preservation Council addressed the meeting on saving the natural landscape. He explained the formation of the Landscape Preservation Council by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), as a central organisation for tree preservation societies throughout Victoria, which will encourage the formation of local groups, and negotiate with government departments and public utilities. | |
