and that the new committee have it audited. Carried unanimously.
|
| Annual Report: | Mr (William)
Ridland presented the annual report & made 2 comments:
one that it seems to be generally considered that the community would be wasting its time on conservation matters, as they seem to believe that conservationists seek out problems to occupy their time instead of the actual fact that conservationists have to make time to deal with community problems. and secondly that the Beaumaris Conservation Society had previously been the Beaumaris Tree Preservation Society. Mr (William)
Ridland moved, seconded by Mr (John)
Iggulden, that the Annual Report be received. Carried unanimously.
|
| Election of Officers: | The President, Mr (William)
Ridland stated his intention to retire from the
presidency and
that he would be unable to stand for re-election for the coming year.
Mr
Ridland then called for nominations as follows:
POSITION
NOMINEE
NOMINATOR
SECONDER
As the Secretary had previously stated her inability to take office during 1972, it was decided that she would remain in office only until the Committee could find someone suitable to take her place. It was then decided that the new
office-bearers would
invite all members prepared to serve on the Committee to be present at
the next Committee meeting and the new Committee would then be
nominated.

| General Business | Mr (William)
Ridland wished the new Committee the best of luck for the new year.
Mr (John) Iggulden thanked Mr Ridland for the work he had done for the society during the year; and estimated that about 45 issues had arisen during the last year in the P.P.C.C. in which Mr Ridland was Vice President and so that his collective contribution to conservation had been very considerable. Mr Ridland thanked Mrs (Gabrielle) Johnstone for her help during the year as Secretary. As there was no further business the meeting was closed at 10:30 p.m. |
