Bayside City Council erected this barrier and sign in November 2002 at the end of the paved bicycle road at Cromer Road, Beaumaris, so it is clear that bicycles are not allowed on this part of Beach Park. As this photo shows, cyclists use the seaward edge of the Beach Road pavement when heading towards Black Rock, and many will still do so even after c. $2 million has been spent on a separate bicycle road alongside it.
